Italian manufacturer of frames Retrosuperfuture, better known as SUPER, taemed up with The Andy Warhol Foundation to create a limited capsule of sunglasses. The main feature of the collection is the decorations on the metal frames – prints of Warhol’s photo reproductions, reminiscent of archival silver gelatin photos from the artist’s archive. The collection is comprised of four silhouettes, named America, Classic, Ciccio and Drew all in metallic gray.
Details such as silver hardware, engraved wings and ultra dark Zeiss lenses complete this collection of premier shades, available at RETROSUPERFUTURE’s online shop. Priced at €179 ($245) per pair, they arrive in a matching limited edition box.
All proceeds from the sale will be directed to Andy Warhol Foundation and will form the major part of grants that will be handed to talented young artists.
