We know that you can buy everything on eBay. But, the village? Yes, you hear well, one Italian seller has put up the small village of Borgata Calsazio in northwestern Italy on eBay. Although, the town needs significant renovation work in order to meet certain architectural and historical standards, the price is more than ridiculous – €245,000 ($333,000). Located near Gran Paradiso National Park, just 50 miles from the town of Turin, Calsazio features 50 rooms spread out over 14 homes.
The seller, who only goes by “it2014.piemo,” is working with Italy’s National Union of Mountain Towns and Communities (UNCEM) which suggests turning the derelict Alpine town into a tourist attraction or a residential haven, according to CNBC. He described the village as having a “strategic location to live, start a business or a tourist restaurant.”
But, once you buy the village, you’re stuck with it, since it is listed as “used” and “non-returnable”.
