It was one of the greatest love stories in history, and now excerpt from marriage certificates of Napoleon and Josephine will be offered at auction in September. Document with date of the 8th mart 1796 was signed by Napoloeon and his fiancee Marie Joseph Rose Tasha de la Pagerie, or Joséphine de Beauharnais. The couple married the next day, and marital list was stamped in Paris on March 18. Throughout history, the couple was remembered as a passionate lovers, but this paper shows that they were very practical.
The contract states that the couple will not be liable for the debts and mortgage of the other, and will not have joint ownership. It is expected that the document will be sold for 100,000 euros($136,000) at auction in Paris on September 21. At the auction will be offered and other documents from that era. At the auction in 2007, love letter written by Josephine to Napoleon before marriage has been sold for five times than estimated.
