The Macallan teamed up with El Celler de Can Roca – voted number one in the San Pellegrino & Acqua Panna World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards last year – for a series of specially created dinners. First, unforgettable gastronomic experience will offers guests a unique 14 course menu created only for the occasion, inspired by the flavours of The Macallan, and paired with an outstanding, never previously offered, range of 14 The Macallan whiskies.
The whiskies presented at the dinner range from unreleased single cask malts through to M, the world’s most expensive whisky, The Macallan in Lalique 62 years old, as well as the oldest single malt ever released by The Macallan distillery. Founded in 1824 this whisky icon from Speyside, Scotland creates one of the most admired and awarded single malts in the world. The use of highest quality casks to mature the spirit provides a distinct flavour and a beautiful range of naturally coloured whiskies.
The dinner will take place in the highly praised restaurant, which is located in Girona, Spain (an hour from Barcelona) on 22nd March 2015 and is limited to 60 people.
The restaurant will open exclusively for this charity dinner, and net proceeds, plus an additional pledge from The Macallan, will be donated to Charity:water to provide clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries.
During the evening an exclusive single malt whisky will be auctioned for the same charity, offering the chance to be the owner of a one-off The Macallan bottling. Every guest will receive a gift from The Macallan – a limited edition miniature whisky with a certificate of authenticity confirming it as one of only 14 created. Diners will meet the famed Roca brothers, Joan, Josep and Jordi (voted the best pastry chef 2014).
