Reaffirming Auctions America’s reputation as an auction house of choice for the sale of private and estate collections, early entries for this year’s sale are led by The Iconic Southern California Collection, an impressive group of more than 60 vehicles formerly owned by noted Palm Springs collector, the late Bob Pond. Offered fresh to the market following long-term storage, the diverse collection will cross the block during the two-day sale. Collectively, the group represents virtually every decade of motoring, catering to a broad range of automotive tastes and budgets.
Some of the highlights of the sale include: 1965 Shelby Kirkham Cobra 427’s (Estimate: $125,000 – $175,000) – the Kirkham Cobra is promoted to the legions of Cobra aficionados as “The most beautiful and accurate aluminum body replicas; 1957 Chrysler New Yorker Convertible (Estimate: $180,000 – $220,000); 1959 Chevrolet Impala Convertible (Estimate: $120,000 – $160,000); 1954 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster (Estimate: $105,000 – $115,000); 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air Restomod Two-Door Sedan (Estimate: $50,000 – $60,000); 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Sport Coupe (Estimate: $40,000 – $45,000); 1969 Plymouth Road Runner Coupe (Estimate: $30,000 – $35,000).
Highlights from the sale, which returns to the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel, will be broadcast on NBCSN (NBC Sports Network) on August 1 – 2.
