It’s been a busy month for five-star hotel development, with a wide range of projects announced to open later this year and well into 2015. Hyatt has prominent plans in the pipeline, with hotels set to open across the globe. The two hotels – Park Hyatt Zanzibar and Hyatt Regency Arusha – will join Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam, The Kilimanjaro, which has been in operation since 2011. Park Hyatt Zanzibar will offer 67 rooms including 11 suites, and will be located on an UNESCO heritage site in the historic part of Zanzibar City known as Stone Town. The hotel is directly on the beach, facing the Indian Ocean. The Park Deluxe rooms overlook the ocean, while the suites come equipped with balconies for taking in the views. All hotel guestrooms offer contemporary and luxurious services and facilities. This world-class hotel will reflect Park Hyatt’s intimate and contemporary elegance, providing an ideal place to stay for discerning business and leisure travelers.
Park Hyatt Zanzibar’s Zamani Residence, a unique dining concept, presents a range of authentic cuisines catering to all tastes. Zamani Residence includes a library-bar with veranda, an open courtyard and a main dining room with outdoor terrace and a residential style kitchen, allowing guests to dine in a variety of different areas. The hotel’s pool lounge specialises in local fish dishes complemented with traditional western sandwiches and salads that are perfect for a pool environment.
For those looking for rest and rejuvenation, guests can retreat into the tranquil sanctity of the hotel spa and indulge in a selection of body treatments, massages and the personal services of a hair salon. Guests can also enjoy the exclusive outdoor infinity pool and a fully-equipped fitness centre.
The hotel will have more than 160 square metres of flexible meeting and event facilities, accommodating a large array of meeting requirements from discrete board meetings and small, intimate social occasions and state functions.
Initial construction began on the site last year and the facility is set to be completed at the end of 2014.
