As the New York Post reports, Beyonce may already have one foot out the door of her marriage, since she reportedly looking at a $21.5 million penthouse unit in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. She was house hunting without Jay-Z, further fueling rumors that they are headed toward divorce. “She was very quiet, as if she was looking on the sly,” the source told the Post. Another source speculated that Beyonce was buying the apartment for her mother or sister and that all signs indicated that it would best fit Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy’s necessities.
However, the 4,045-square-foot apartment is the penthouse unit perching atop the building at 520 West 19th Street, a multi-storey glass condo apartment with a unique floor plan. Completely renovated from head (9’2”ceilings) to toe (charcoal granite and teak floors), this large, light-bathed duplex penthouse was made for entertaining as well as city gazing. Although features a massive terrace, five bedrooms, five and a half baths, a library, and an enviable walk-in closet, this unit is reportedly half the size of Bey and Jay’s 8,309-square-foot pad in Tribeca.
These are just speculations as none of the parties or spokespersons for the parties have confirmed anything.
