“My work is often inspired by themes of cooking. Comparison of appearance and reality, nature and culture, as well as discussion of good and bad taste fascinate me,” wrote Natalie Luder, the designer on its website.
The idea for this unusual accessory came from foulard – the French word for a silk scarf. The word is composed by fou (insane) and lard (bacon), which is confirmed in this case.
