The 25,000-square-foot Tuscan-style home near Mummy Mountain now can be yours for $25 million, since the Big Unit doesn’t need it any more. “The Big Unit” simply doesn’t need such a spacious home anymore. ”A couple of their kids have gone to school so they’re going to start to downsize,” says listing agent Robert Joffe, who confirmed that the retired pitcher’s home will go on the market this coming Monday.
The Mediterranean-style mansion which lies on five acres was designed by architect Erik Peterson and built in 2009. The home has a whopping seven bedrooms and twelve bathrooms and a detached 2-bedroom guesthouse. Sprawling estate comes with a commercial-sized workout room, a large home theater with 20 stadium seats and snack bar, a modern music room with a recording studio and oversized master bedroom, bathroom and walk-in closet. There’s an 1,800-square-foot full gym, a tennis court and a swimming pool with slide.
The home last sold for just $2.7 million in 2003.
