Earlier this week, leaked internal documents revealed that Microsoft will be killing off its “Windows Phone” and “Nokia” names for less confusing “Windows” and “Microsoft” replacements in time for the holidays. Now a new handset from My Go appears to be one of the first to use the Windows logo instead of Windows Phone. Images available on My Go’s own website show the 4.7-inch GoFone GF47W with the standard Windows logo, not the Windows Phone logo.
The handset is marked with a ‘CONFIDENTIAL – Internal Use Only‘ banner at the top, indicating that it is not yet ready for public consumption, but the information contained there is both complete and well-presented, and appears to be more or less ready for launch. Still, there’s no word on when, and Microsoft hasn’t officially confirmed the change in branding yet.
