For its 250th anniversary celebrations, during the month of March 2014, Baccarat showed the best of its craftsmanship and excellence in the windows of Harrods with an exhibition of the world’s most illustrious Crystalworks, which has over the ages become a symbol of perfection, elegance and Art de Vivre. Now, two months before Christmas, also part of celebration, French crystalmaker has unveiled a special collection “Christmas in Red“, tribute to its signature color.
The highlight of the collection is the limited edition “Harcourt Our Fire”candlestick, designed by Philippe Starck, with a red lampshade-esque detail. Also in the collection are the “Eye” candle holder and vase by Nicolas Triboulot, the “Héritage” crystal sun clock and the striking “Zenith”, a 24-light clear and red crystal chandelier. Purely decorative elements include the “Papillon” crystal mirror butterfly and the limited edition “Héritage” crystal panther sculpture by Georges Chevalier. The red crystal is obtained by fusing clear crystal and 24-carat gold powder.
