Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot has recently unveiled a new pop-up store in the Grand Atrium of the Dubai Mall to kick-off the Challenge with its Ferrari F1 racing simulator that provides a fully immersive experience to guests and VIP’s as part of the exhibition. The inauguration took place on the 1st of October with the presence of Hublot Chairman Jean-Claude Biver, and His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The simulator features the electronic system, which is used by professional race drivers. Equipped with HD graphics displayed onto a wrap-around curved screen and accompanied 3D effects, the ride transports drivers into the track and gives a realistic sensation when driving. The guests were able to compare their performances with Ferrari F1 drivers, live on the www.hublotchallenge.com website. The winner of the Dubai leg had the privilege and honour to be invited to compete for the final in Abu Dhabi and try to win a real track experience on the Yas Marina circuit during the Ferrari Finali Mondiali week-end which will take place on 3rd – 6th December, 2014.
The Pop-up also saw a notable array of luxury timepieces, which included the aptly named Big Bang Ferrari Ceramic Carbon with the
mythic Ferrari Yellow, alongside the Big Bang Ferrari King Gold. The Big Bang Ferrari Titanium Carbon is their signature piece created with its renowned Red sapphire glass.
Among the watches inspired by Ferrari a collection of Pop Art reinterpretations will also be available The Big Bang Pop Art which carries two models in gold and two in steel feature a bezel set with 48 baguette precious stones: topazes for the blue, amethysts for
the purple, sapphires for the pink and tsavorites for the green, and dials with multi-colored counters reminiscent of a painter’s palette.
Timeless elegance is epitomized through the Classic Fusion Tourbillon Skull. One of the kings amongst complications, the ceramic-coated aluminum gives this piece a truly striking appearance. The winding skeleton movement features a ceramic layer and has a high hardness rating of around 1000 Vickers. It has excellent resistance to corrosion and friction, and is twice as light as ceramic. With a 5-day power reserve, the bone-shaped design with skull-shaped minute tourbillon barret (which rotates fully in one minute) creates a surprising and different piece: the perfect fusion of tradition and future.
