Have you ever wished that you find yourself in a situation where was the main character of movie ”Cast Away”, away from any form of civilization to enjoy in untouched nature? If you have already searched that location on Google Maps, you may have noticed that the south of this island, there is absolutely nothing until you reach Antarctica. So, where it was filmed “Cast Away“? The answer is, on Fiji, on a small island Monuriki, which is part of the Mamanuca archipelago.
If you see the island from a bird’s eye view, you will see the beach on the eastern side where the Tom Hanks, who played a major role in the movie, spent most of its time. On the south, is the cave where he found his refuge.
If that’s not enough and want to visit this island, your best bet is to head to the city of Nadi in Fiji and then reserve a seat by the tour operators who offer day trips. Prices vary, but you can count that for the tour you need to allocate about $100.
Interestingly, you can book a room in the same resort on Matamanoa, located south of Monuriki. Here you can enjoy in foods, which for you will prepare a chef, or sleep in a bungalow which is located on the beach, and all for “only” $400 per night.
