The largest bottle of Champagne arrives in London to take a honorary place at St Pancras International this month to mark the start of Searcys National Champagne Week (6th – 12th October). The 30 liter bottle of bubbly which is also known as Melchizedek weighs in at around 100 pounds and measuring more than 4ft tall. Security guards expertly transported the giant bottle to its prime position at Searcys St Pancras Grand – Europe’s longest Champagne bar. Searcys Champagne operations director, Joël Claustre MCA said: “Containing the same amount of Champagne as 40 standard bottles, the price tag doesn’t come cheap and pouring from the bottle is no easy feat – it requires a specially devised mechanical stand for expert pouring precision into the flute!”
Throughout National Champagne Week, the Searcys’ bar will be hosting a series of Champagne tasting sessions across all its London’s bars and hoping that people up and down the country will raise a toast to create their very own Champagne moments throughout the week.
Searcys bars have up to 15 Champagnes available by the glass each day and 140 by the bottle.
