Four years ago, Oscar-winning producer Jim Wilson has listed his 190-acre ranch in Calabasas for $25 million. Obviously, he couldn’t find the buyer, since he now hopes to get $14,9 million for his property, called Avalon Ranch. Located in the heart of Calabasas, Avalon Ranch is the gated 190-acre equestrian center and farm with a 7,500-square-foot house, custom built in 1999, which has a classic, farmhouse-style front porch, a spacious center hall entry and generous formal living and dining rooms.
Other feature include massive stone fireplaces, beamed ceilings, slate floors, French doors, built-in bookcases and wraparound porches. Among the rooms are a center hall, a country-style kitchen, six bedrooms and four bathrooms.
The property also offers a self-contained two-bedroom guest apartment atop the garage and set on a small plateau above the main house where it has sweeping mountain views, a second and also self-contained guesthouse.
Also, there’s a 16-stall horse barn, a tennis court with viewing pavilion and a swimming pool with spa and pavilion. The grounds include a duck pond, expansive pastures and corrals, sand ring, more than 1,000 trees planted, and hundreds of fruit and citrus trees.
