In addition to the N3 camera phone, Oppo has unveiled its first 64-bit smartphone – Oppo R5. As of today, this phone holds the title of the world’s thinnest, because it has a thickness of only 4.85 millimeters. The casing is made of 3D-welded aluminum alloy, which is then hand-polished. The overall dimensions of the phone are 148,9 x 74,5mm (x 4,85mm), and his weight is 155 grams. Oppo R5 has a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080p (423ppi), and the company promises the best lighting, the lowest light reflection and high-accurate color rendition.
This smartphone boasts Snapdragon 615, eight-core Qualcomm processor from the middle segment, which consists of octa-core Cortex-A53 processor at 1.5GHz, paired with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. R5 will be launched with Android 4.4-based Color OS 2.0 operating system.
The back camera has the 13MP Sony IMX214 sensor, while the front side is a 5MP sensor. The camera on the back can record 2160p video @ 30fps and 1080p @ 60fps, plus 120fps slo-mo (@ 720p).
Although so thin, the phone packs Li-Polymer battery of 2000mAh, which is supported VOOC mini charger for fast charging. Connection options include 2G GPRS to TDD / FDD LTE, and there are Wi-Fi a / b / g / n and Bluetooth 4.0 support.
Oppo R5 will be on sale, priced at $499, but is still not known the exact date of launch.
