Samsung gold painted 78-inch curved UHD TV will go under the hammer on November 20 as part of the Christie’s Hong Kong autumn auction. This one-of-king TV has been gold-lacquer painted using the Ottchil (Korean lacquer painting technique that dates back to the Neolithic Era), by celebrated artist Sung Yong Hong. The theme is called “Memory of TV”, and it features iconic scenes from history of the television.
This TV is designed to charity – all proceeds from the sale going to Orbis, a global non-government organization with the mission to improve access to high-quality eye health.
The one-off Curved UHD TV will be displayed among other art by leading Asian artists at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in West Wing Hall.
