Ducati’s new “not a retro bike”, retro-hued roadster has been unveiled at the International Motorcycle Fair in Cologne, Germany. This new Scrambler is the first new-model announcement from Ducati this year which features a stylish design that correctly reinterprets the spirit of the 1970s’ original, but is fitted with all it needs to make you feel like you are ridging a contemporary motorcycle. When talking about the Scrambler’s upright design, it highlights the aluminium front and rear mudguards, the spoke wheels, the tear drop steel fuel tank and the brown seat with diamond-shaped inserts.
If talking about its power, new Ducati Scrambler boasts an 803cc L-twin engine rated at 74 horsepower and 50 pound-feet of torque. The oil- and air-cooled engine employs a six-speed gearbox and a chain drive to get power to the ground, and anti-lock brakes are standard fit. Weight is quoted at 375 pounds dry or 410 pounds all wet and ready to play.
The new Scrambler comes in four versions: Scrambler Icon ($8495), Urban Enduro ($9995), Scrambler Full Throttle ($9995), and Scrambler Classic ($9995), each boasting distinctive touches that evoke memories.
