Before the announced S-class Pullman, Mercedes promoted its S Class Maybach, and it happened at the Auto Show in Los Angeles.
Let’s start from the dimension; Length of the Mercedes Maybach S class is 5453 mm, while the wheelbase is 3365 mm (200 mm longer than the S-class long-wheelbase). Initially, there’ll be available two versions of this luxury car, and that S600 and S500. A more powerful version will run 6.0-liter V12 twin-turbo engine with 530KS and 830 Nm, while a weaker 4.7-liter twin-turbo V8 with 455KS and 700 Nm of torque. Both versions up to 100 km / h accelerate in exactly 5 seconds, and top speed is electric limited to 250 km / h.
If customers of these cars are interested at all, average fuel consumption at lower version is 8.9 l / 100 km, and at the more powerful version is 11.7 l / 100 km.
Later the offer will be enriched with S400 4MATIC variant, which means a 3.0 liter V6 engine with 333KS and 480 Nm, four-wheel drive.
S Class Maybach is of course more luxurious than the current version of the S-class. The focus is primarily on the more spacious interior space and greater comfort for rear passengers (highlight the el. adjustable individual seats), and it should be noted that there will be numerous options for personalization.
With this limo, Mercedes will try to compete with models such as the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Bentley Flying Spur, and in German company promise that Maybach Mercedes S class will be “the quietest car in the world.”
Sale of Maybach Mercedes S-class will otherwise officially started in February 2015. Here are a reminder that some information appeared few months ago which say that the name Maybach could be used in several models of Mercedes.
