Ringo Star’s mansion in Ranleigh, Surrey (UK), is on sale at the stratospheric figure of £20 million ($31,5 million). The legendary Beatles drummer (and sometimes lead singer) lived beautiful moments in this luxurious home from the seventeenth century, surrounded by 200 hectares of land. The park includes few ponds and beautiful gardens that add magic to a composition of value, suitable for a relaxing and comfortable life in the English countryside. The riding spaces are worthy seal of its spirit.
Star purchased this estate in 1999 for £2 million ($3 million). Subsequently, the house was subject to major renovation work, with the involvement of celebrity interior designer Nicky Haslam. He said ‘We took it back practically to bare walls, and it was terrific fun to do.
‘I had to employ specialist plasterers, and Ringo loves all that kind of English craftsmanship. He was very hands on and can read plans, which few clients can do.
‘I was given pretty much free rein with the décor, but Ringo wanted a music room for his gold records and drum kits, and there’s another big music room, more like a ballroom, for performing.
‘There’s a wonderful kitchen, as they both like to cook and have specific food requirements. It had to be big enough to eat in, and there’s a pretty herb garden just outside.’
He added: ‘We did the pool house two years later. They didn’t leave anything undone – the garden is beautiful. Ringo certainly likes a plant or two, though I can’t say I actually ever saw him with a space in his hand, spreading manure.’
Within the walls there are eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms. There are also few reception rooms, designed in a way appropriate to the mission. The staging is precious, why not bound by economic restrictions. Its charm is apparent at all levels from the indoor pool, spa with starry roof to the home theater themselves of such splendor. The complex also includes a fitness room, air-conditioned and a turkish bath.
The property is dotted with a number of additional facilities which also include a pair of cottages for staff and/or guests. There is also a helipad. What to expect more?
