This week at CES 2015 in Las Vegas, Sony unveiled its new flagship portable music player – the Walkman NW-ZX2. The new device will satisfy expectation of the pickiest audiophiles, complete with its high premium design and quality of its audio playback. It is heavy, made from solid aluminum alloy and packed with the high quality DAC inside that allows it to output high quality audio at 192 kHz/24 bit with no compression at all.
Power button, volume buttons and media buttons are down at the right side of device, easy allowing you to pause and skip forward and backward. On the bottom of the device you will find the microSD card slot, a docking port that also doubles as the port that the amp plugs into, and your gold plated 3.5mm headphone jack.
The NW-ZX2 features 128GB of memory — and can be expanded to 256GB – and a battery that’s expected to last up to 60 hours (good for 33 hours of high-resolution 24-bit music playback). It’s also Bluetooth and Wi-Fi compatible, so it can wirelessly broadcast to various devices, plus a number of new Sony speakers and headphones that also promise high audio quality.
Sony Walkman NW-ZX2 is slated to hit shelves in the spring and will retail for a whopping $1,119.99.
