“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice entered the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut earlier this week to start her 15-month prison sentence. This drama drastically slashed the asking price of her New Jersey Big House that the Giudices built from the ground up – and was partly responsible for their downfall!
Teresa’s massive dream home in Towaco, New Jersey which has a grand two-story entrance with double Cinderella staircases was listed on Sept. 9 for $3.9 million ahead of her court date. Just a few weeks after the Giudices received their sentence on Nov. 7, the price of the home was cut by $500,000 to $3.499 million. Then, only two days after Teresa started her prison term in Danbury, Connecticut, the price has once again dropped to $2.9 million.
The Giudices picked up the vacant lot in 2002 for $530,000 and proceeded to build their massive Chateau-style mega-mansion, which sits on 3.5 acres. It features 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, which basically gives every single member of the Giudice household their own bathroom.
The massive gourmet kitchen, located at the center of the home, is the scene for many of Giudices’ special family moments that were played out on Real Housewives of New Jersey, features a butler’s pantry and large working center island, perfect for entertaining and an adjoining dining area.
The formal living and dining rooms both have fireplaces and the former a melodramatically double-height ceiling. There’s also a wine making room with burnt orange walls, where Joe will surely be spending much of his remaining time while waiting for his wife.
