For a pure white falcon with no other color of feather, they are willing to pay Two Million US dollars! As in many other countries, falconry in Qatar is part of a family tradition. When we know that this country has the highest standard of living in the world, this tradition turns into passion.
In the center of the capital Doha is Souq Waqif market. Dozens of birds, with caps, patiently waiting to find the owner, and when they find them, familiarization period begins. Falcon has to get used to the owner and his smell of his body in order to know where to return. For each case, on them are installed navigation devices, to help the owner, via computer or smartphone, to find his bird.
Prices are colorful. More white feathers, the more it is worth. Starting price for snow-white falcon with only a few dark feathers is $200,000. A simple calculation shows that by one dark feather, price fall by $100,000.
