Alexander Wang obviously burns for new challenges, so now he jumps into furniture bussines. That’s right, the American designer has teamed up with Italian label Poltrona Frau to design a three piece capsule collection, which will debut this February. “Over the last 10 years, furniture is where my interest has really evolved,” Wang told the Wall Street Journal. “When I started working in fashion, I always had an idea of an environment in my head, but how to actualize it, and what the references meant, that’s new.”
The collection includes two beanbag chairs, one made in black shearling, the other in black leather, priced at $8,800, and a matching bar cabinet that costs $18,500.
“It’s banal, an everyday item,” the designer tells WSJ. He wanted to reinterpret them into something unexpectedly luxury. According to the prices, he managed in his venture.
