It was only a matter of time when luxury watch makers will introduce timepiece with smartphone notifications for the extremely wealthy. Britain’s Christophe & Co. became a firstborn brand who mixed luxury and technology and created an ultra high-end wearable device. Called Armill, this device is a limited edition men’s jewelry bracelet, actually self-charging smart bracelet that features a lightweight carbon fiber core that’s covered in luxurious accents like 18K gold and precious gems.
To create the design for their Armill, Christophe & Co. has teamed up with the Italian design firm Pininfarina – best known for its customization work on Ferraris. Each bracelet can be individually customised to the wearer down to the size of customer’s wrist and hand engraved, personalised messages.
The bracelet is NFC and Bluetooth connected and has a one button valet press which sends a message to your personal assistant via the connected smartphone.
It is powered by the kinetic energy generation system that will keep its electronics running with a power reserve of at least a year.
The Christophe & Co. Armill 18-carat gold bracelets are available in three different editions: Virtus priced at $75,000 (limited edition of 300), the rose gold and diamond-encrusted Orion priced at $93,000 (limited edition of 100), and the Apollo, which is adorned with 1,500 hand-set pavé diamonds priced at $149,000 (limited edition of 25)
