According to Lakes Sotheby’s International Realty, Josh Hartnett, who currently stars in the Showtime series “Penny Dreadful,” is downsizing locally because he plans to spend more time away from Minnesota for his career. The actor and director has listed his Victorian-style home in Minneapolis, Minnesota for just $2,395,000, precisely what he paid for it in 2002. The 5,000 square foot home was originally built in 1887 and was one of the first houses built on Lake of the Isles.
It still features it’s original layout, but Hartnett made some renovations combining modern with traditional, including adding a gourmet kitchen. There are four bedrooms, four bathrooms, beautiful public spaces, several stained glass windows, and large yard. Other features include a wine cellar, a gym, outdoor spaces on every floor, views of the lake and a formal dining room.
The house was also renovated in the 1980s, which inspired the book “Dreaming in the Dust.” It was also an American Society of Interior Designers showcase home in 2001.
