Bang & Olufsen has announced Beolit 15 – a new portable Bluetooth speaker for use with smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Based on the brand’s recognizable Beolit 12, this new device shares some similarities in terms of its hardware, although in the case of the Beolit 15, it has been improved upon to showcase acclaimed acoustics, premium materials and pure Scandinavian design.
According to B&O, Beolit 15 features True360 omni-directional sound, up to 24 hours of continuous playtime from a single battery charge, the Bang & Olufsen Signature Sound, and premium quality materials such as anodized aluminum and full grain leather.
Beolit 15 features four active drivers and two passive bass radiators, driven by dual Class-D amplifiers. Peak power is 240W. One amplifier channel drives a five-and-a-half-inch long-stroke full-range driver, while the bass performance is enhanced by two four-inch passive bass radiators placed on each side — in balance to avoid vibration.
The second amplifier channel drives three 37mm mid-tweeters; two positioned in the front corners, facing outwards at 45 degrees and 15 degrees upwards, and the third one placed on the backside of the speaker.
Beolit 15 supports Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX codec. It can remember up to 8 devices and can connect to two at a time.
Priced at $500, Beolit 15 will be available in March, in three colors: Polar Blue, Natural Champagne and Shaded Rosa.
