It seems that Bob Hope overestimated his Palm Springs mansion. Magnificent mushroom-shaped residence was originally listed last year for $50 million, then earlier this month the price has been reduced down to $34 million, but still didn’t find the buyer. Maybe the current price of $24,9 million will be lucky. As already reported this iconic desert masterpiece sits high atop of the exclusive Southridge community, overlooking the Coachella Valley with panoramic views northward to Banning Pass and Mount San Jacinto.
Designed by renowned architect John Lautner with construction spanning from 1973 to 1980, the 23,366-square-foot home has 6 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, 3 half baths, indoor and outdoor pools, a pond, putting greens and a tennis court.
The Hopes, along with their four children, used the “volcano house” as their second residence and for entertaining guests, since it is huge enough to accommodate up to 300 guests for dinner under an enormous covered terrace.
