Holbox Hotel Casa Las Tortugas is an eco-friendly hotel that, while never compromising on comfort, is very much in tune with its extraordinary surroundings. Holbox Island itself is a unique holidaying destination; a place able to juxtapose the perfect balance between relaxation and action, luxury and nature. And there is no better place than Holbox Hotel Casa Las Tortugas to enjoy your trip to this far corner of the Mexican Riviera Maya.
When architecture lover, Gianni Golinelli and his wife Greta arrived to the Yucatan peninsula from Italy for the first time, they felt an immediate affinity for its people, colours, smells and sounds. But when they stumbled across the unspoiled Holbox Island, the last vestige of uncommercial living on the Mayan Riviera, they instantly fell in love with its raw beauty.
It was in that moment that they decided to create Holbox Hotel Casa Las Tortugas, a family project which in reality has become their great passion. This can be seen in every corner of this very special Holbox hotel, in every detail and in every idea. Opened in 2003, with a spectacular final remodelling in 2011, Holbox Hotel Casa Las Tortugas is an environmentally conscious hotel situated on the island’s beautiful main beach and surrounded by lush vegetation, colourful birds and exotic fauna.
In 2013, this chic Holbox Hotel was awarded the Travellers’ Choice Award by Trip Advisor and this, alongside its numerous positive customer reviews, has sparked media interest in both the Island and this enchanting Hotel. From the facilities to the staff, the restaurant to the rooms, and, of course, the natural beauty of Holbox Island’s beach, Holbox Hotel Casa Las Tortugas has been praised for seeking to tend to all its guests’ wants and needs.
