Swiss watch brand, Baume & Mercier has teamed up with Shelby Cobra American LLC for a limited edition run of watches. Capeland Shelby Cobra watches celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 427 Shelby Cobra, as well as its first winning of the FIA Sports Car World Championship. The watches are inspired by the Cobra’s famous racing provenance and each is an elegant expression of power and performance – all designed to celebrate Carroll Shelby’s achievements.
They’re based on the vintage 1948 mono-push-piece chronograph in the Baume & Mercier museum.
According to Baume & Mercier CEO Alain Zimmermann, the timepiece is distinguished by its retro accents, classic lines, chronograph and tachymeter functions, polished and satin finished case and specially crafted hands featuring the Cobra logo. The line consists of two pieces: one chronograph in stunning stainless steel – limited to to 1,965 pieces and one flyback chronograph in 18-karat rose gold – limited to only 98 units.
Each watch in the Capeland Shelby Cobra collection arrives in special packaging with an exclusive miniature of the 427 Cobra, in addition to a custom brochure and card. First version will retail for $4,450, while more extravagant version will retail for $19,950.
