From time to time it happens that some really unique and collectible items sold on eBay. That also what happened last Friday, when Steve Jobs’ yearbook sold for a whopping $12,322,00. A private eBay seller listed an original copy of the 1972 Homestead High School yearbook, which depicts a long-haired late Apple co-founder from his Senior year of high school. This is not Jobs own personal yearbook, but a copy that was given to students at the school.
The blue-bound yearbook also contains photographs of Mark, the brother of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak’s brother, plus Job’s sister, Patty, who was friends with the eBay seller. Unlike most yearbooks, there are no signatures or notes from fellow students.
Speaking with Cult of Mac about the sale, the seller has stated, “My brother was friends with Jobs and I knew his sister Patty who was in my grade.”
There are at least three 1972 yearbooks from Homestead High listed on eBay right now, all of which start at over $4,900. Not only does each yearbook feature Jobs, but also pubescent portraits of Apple co-founder Mark (Steve) Wozniak and Bill Fernandez, the company’s first employee.
