Although previously been some unofficial reports that Lexus could introduce its new generation of RX crossover in January at the Auto Show in Detroit, it didn’t happen then. The premiere was in fact preserved for the 1st April and for the Auto Show in New York, so now in front of us are the first official photos and promotional video. The current generation RX is otherwise promoted in late 2008 and renewed in early 2012.
The statement recalls that Lexus has sold worldwide total of 2.1 million copies of the RX (all generations together) and that RX is their most successful model at all (about 30% of all Lexus sold so far namely labeled RX).
Except brave design, the new RX delivers and spacious interior with more leg room for rear passengers, more luxurious cabin with quality materials, head-up display (HUD), 12.3-inch monitor, systems – Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM), AVS (Adaptive Variable Suspension), as well as innovative Lexus Safety System +.
Lexus Safety System + includes radar, camera and systems such as Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Automatic High Beam (AHB), Lane Keep Assist feature (LKA), Panoramic View Monitor (PVM), Blind spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).
You can choose Lexus RX 350, which runs an enhanced 3.5-liter V6 engine with 300 hp (paired with a new eight-speed automatic menajčem) or Lexus RX 450h hybrid that combines V6 and electric motor.
Also on offer will be the F Sport package (only for versions with a 4×4 drive) which implies a different front grill, rear bumper trim, alloy wheels 20-inch F Sport instrument panel, TFT Multi Information Display (MID), sports leather steering wheel, F Sport, tags, special colors …
Finally – the information on the dimensions: the new RX is 4890 mm long, 1895 mm wide, 1689 mm high, wheelbase is 2789 mm, while the wheels of 18, 19 and 20 inches (depending on the version).
