One-of-a-kind dining experience in the heart of Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort is set to be open on April 13th. Although we can’t yet confirm the opening date of the new restaurant, called The Boathouse, we can give you a hint of what can expect at this waterfront dining with a nautical theme. The two-story restaurant at The Landing (formerly Pleasure Island) in Disney Springs will feature waterside seating, terraces, a grand hall and a cocktail lounge. It comes complete with Amphicars, Italian Water Taxis and floating artwork featuring antique mahogany boats from the ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s.
This new Disney Springs dining destination will include unique exhibition kitchens showcasing traditions like Peking duck carving, and dim sum.
The restaurant’s gourmet menu (served daily until 2 a.m.) will feature steaks, chops, seafood and a raw bar. And of course, the menu is not cheap. The Disney Food Blog notes that while the menu and prices have not been listed on the restaurant’s website, they are currently available in the My Disney Experience app.
For example there are dishes like a bone-in filet mignon for $49, a Berkshire pork chop for $27, and even a “tomahawk long bone rib chop for two” for $115. The seafood-heavy menu also includes options like a surf and turf deal for four, coriander seared tuna, and salmon served on a cedar plank. Other plates offered include coconut frogs legs, a $24 crab cake, a $17 side of shrimp mac and cheese, and a s’mores baked Alaska for four.
Also, the Boathouse will immerse guests both on land and on water with live music, guided tours aboard the Captain’s piloted 40-foot Italian Water Taxi with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries and guided Amphicar rides that launch from land, enter the water, and take guests on a 20-minute tour of the landmarks of Disney Springs.
