Enhancements are never enough. The One&Only Ocean Club resort on the Bahamas’ Paradise Island is planning a renovation project. Target for the renovations is the Hartford Wing of the resort, where rooms will get new furniture, while being expanded by 110 sq ft so that each includes a terrace or balcony with either ocean or resort garden views. The plans also include the expansion of dining options at resort’s signature Dune eatery.
The hardwood floors in the rooms will be much lighter with a mix of whites, greys, and blues – or in the words of the hotel, “the distinctive palette of The Bahamas – cerulean blues, aquamarine and the bleached white of Bahamian sand”. Bathrooms will get an overhaul with new marble, separate bath and rain shower, as well as double vanities. All rooms have access to butler service.
The dining room and Dune Deck at Dune restaurant by Jean-Georges Vongerichten will enlarge to accommodate more guests, and the menu choices will expand.
“One&Only Ocean Club is an iconic, exclusive resort and the planned renovations will make it better than ever,” said Mark DeCocinis, President/Chief Operating Officer, One&Only Resorts. “With our passionate team led by General Manager John Conway, we will continue to focus on providing guests the best service in The Bahamas.”
The renovation is being conducted in collaboration with design consultants HKS Architects and Jeffrey Beers International.
