Luxury car maker Aston Martin, the supplier of James Bond’s cars, teamed up with Quintessence Yachts for its first luxury powerboat. Following the official presentation of the renderings at the Aston Martin HQ in Gaydon in April, a number of revolutionary features of the new AM37 were recently revealed. “The iconic allure of Aston Martin is built upon passion, skill and creativity of the people who dedicate their working lives to this historic luxury brand,” said a statement on Quintessence Yachts website.
“Thanks to the extensive contribution of the Aston Martin designers, the AM37 combines the highest degree of technology and innovation in a genuinely unique manner.”
One of the most striking features of the 1.3 metre-long boat is onboard voice control with a sliding deck, allowing the cockpit top be protected from the elements and uninvited guests, as well as dashboard HD touchscreen control displays.
There will be two versions built. The AM37S is described as a true powerboat with a top speed of 52 knots and the AM37, a “gran turismo” leisure powerboat, has a top speed of 44 knots.
“Luxurious and fast in the best tradition of British sports cars, the AM37 powerboats marry the finest features of two distinct worlds,” said Quintessence Yachts.
