One of the most eye-catching medieval properties, this castle is located in the Piazza Umberto I of the small Italian town of Tavoleto, which lies in the province of Pesaro/Urbino, in the Marche region of Italy. It is positioned at only 20 km from the main tourist areas found along the beautiful Romagnola Riviera or better known as Rimini, Riccione, and Cattolica. The Castle gives a majestic panoramic view of the sea along these towns and inner areas from San Marino to Mount Catria and Nerone.
Built in the early 1300s by the Sigismondo Malatesta family, the Castle comes with a complex and interesting history. In 1960, the castle was sold to a private owner who transformed it into a restaurant and thusly restored it to the standards of the respective year.
However, the current owners purchased the Castle with a full intent on returning it to its original form. They dedicated time in remodeling the facade, large halls, courtyards, and garden. The walls were carefully scraped from the plaster bringing back to life the original Castle walls. In addition, floors were reconstructed and all plumbing and electrical outlets were completely redone.
Much of the material that was used was taken from the existing structure such as the heraldic hall floors which now form part of the pathway leading to the garden. The new material used was carefully selected in order to maintain the Castle’s history.
On top of a hill, a few steps from the sea, lost in tranquility and far from space and time, lies a majestic place where one can submerge into absolute serenity and hear the echo of one’s thoughts. All this can be yours if you’re rich enough to purchase it. You just need €5,2 million ($5,8 million).
