Burberry joins Gucci, Roberto Cavalli and Armani with opening of its first cafe within its flagship store on London’s Regent Street. Entitled “Thomas,” the first Burberry cafe and restaurant sits in a new split-level space at the corner of the extended Regent Street store, which also houses a new gifting area. Thomas’s will be open seven days a week and will offer menu which focuses on ingredients sourced from U.K. farmers and artisans, a big trend in food globally. Dishes include lobsters and chips, cured salmon with scrambled eggs and Mersea rock oysters.
The space itself boasts high ceilings, black-and-white marble floors, black lantern chandeliers and large windows onto Sackville Street. The café is part of the store’s expansion to include a new area dedicate entirely to gifting. This “Gifting area” carries home-furnishing items, games, stationery and travel accessories, including a line of canvas pouches and tote bags printed with a London map pattern exclusive to the Regent Street store. There is also a monogram service, which allows you to add your own personal touch to leather goods within the hour.
