Maserati, between 1967 and 1973, produced a model Ghibli, for whose design was otherwise meritorious Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro. At the beginning, the Ghibli, was offered only as a coupe (produced 1,170 copies), and in 1969 has appeared a Spyder variant which was made in only 128 copies. However, the yellow Ghibli Spyder in the pictures is not one of these 128 copies, but it is a Ghibli Spyder prototype, made in 1968.
The car has a chassis number AM115 / S 1001, engine AM115 / S 1001, and was promoted at the Turin Motor Show in 1968. The car has some visual differences from the standard model, and it should be noted that in the mid-seventies of the last century found its owner somewhere in the United States. Soon this Ghibli will change its owner, and it will happened on the upcoming RM Sotheby’s Monterey auction that will be held in August.
