Brugal Rum has launched Papá Andrés Alegría – the second edition of rum exclusive private reserves out of their cellars. Papá Andrés Alegría, or Dad Andrew Joy is the most exclusive edition of the Brugal rum, whose value is $1,500.
The rum is named after the founder family patriarch Don Andres Brugal Montaner. The liquor was private consumption for parties of the Brugal family for over 50 years. In 2013 it was made available to the public.
Papá Andrés Alegría comes in a glass bottle decorated by designer Javier Mariscal in green, white and yellow floral details inspired by colors of the Dominican Republic. Mariscal also illustrated the book that accompanies the bottle and recounts the story of Father Andrew and Brugal.
Of the 37 barrels this year were produced only 1,000 bottles, of which only 100 bottles will be available in Dominican Republic. Profits from the bottles will go to the Foundation for use in works to reduce poverty in the country.
