One 12-year-old boy from Taiwan has undergone a real nightmare during the weekend because he tripped in a museum, and destroyed a 350 year old painting worth $1.5 million. The footage published by the organizers of the exhibition “The Face of Leonardo: Pictures of genius” at Huashan 1914 Creative Park in Taipei shows the boys in shorts, sneakers and a blue shirt that holds the drink while passing by dead nature “Flowers” by Italian artist Paolo Porpora. At that moment, he tripped.

As he stumbled toward the painting, he extended his arms to keep from falling, making contact with the artwork and leaving a hole the size of a fist.
The organizers won’t ask the boy’s family to pay for costs to restore valuable painting, since the boy is not guilty, and the artwork is already secured.
“Flowers” is otherwise Porpora’s only signed work and comes from 1660.
