Luxury British bed maker, Savoir Beds teamed up with world-renowned and Parisian architect and designer, Robert Couturier. An organic relationship built on Couturier’s own love of the product, coupled with his reputation as the epitome of luxury in home design, Savoir and Couturier have collaborated to debut this one-of-a-kind piece. Inspired by Art Deco furniture of the 1920’s, Couturier has reinterpreted the sinuous, elegant lines of that era into a design that is perfectly at home in the 21st Century interior.
Couturier’s gondola-shaped bed design features luxurious fabrics from the Italian textile-editeur, Dedar. The surround frame is upholstered in Dedar’s ‘Amoire Libre’ in silvery, pale blue: a “free design” fabric, with no repeat or side-matching, lending a unique pattern to each yard. The tufted headboard is upholstered in Dedar’s ‘Alexander’ fabric, in medium grey, blue brushed woollen velvet.
“I couldn’t be happier with Savoir beds. I have found getting a restful night’s sleep is one of the most difficult things, and it has eluded me much of my life. Savoir has truly made a huge difference. Their mattresses are heaven, and I don’t hesitate to let all of my clients know!” said Couturier.
Feeling as though his beloved dogs deserved the same level of comfort, Couturier has also lent his masterful hand to a complementary dog bed design. The dog bed, supplementing its larger counterpart, has the same, restful color scheme and also uses Dedar’s velvet ‘Alexander’ fabric.
The Robert Couturier design is priced at $ 45,262, which includes a luxurious king-size Savoir No2 bedset and HW mattress topper. The matching dog bed will retail for $3,850.
