To celebrate 100th anniversary of Coca-Cola’s glass bottle, Moleskine has launched a notebook collection inspired by iconic bottle’s curves. Milan-based company joins artists, illustrators and designers around the world to celebrate this pop culture icon with a Limited Edition Notebook Collection. The five covers have original artwork interpreting the visual image of the vintage Coca-Cola bottle.
Moleskine invited international artists from the Coca-Cola “Mash-Up”project to use the notebook cover as their canvas. The resulting 5 notebook covers recreate and reimagine the Coca-Cola bottle imagery and iconography, marrying the past and future, all using the simplicity of black, Coca-Cola Red, and white.
American designer David Schwen created a special Limited Edition notebook (numbered editions of 5,000 are only available at Moleskine Stores online and Moleskine Retail Stores worldwide). It’s a photographic representation of eight bottles arranged in a pinwheel formation, dripping with fresh Coca-Cola Red paint.
This image is stark on a white, hardcover canvas notebook.
The other covers are energetic illustrations of the bottle, each very personal and demonstrative of a unique contemporary perspective. Designers are Matt Allen, Chris Weston (forpeople design), Hitomi Watanabe and Iku Oyamada (HI(NY) design) and a team for Ogilvy & Mather Advertising Paris.
Also, German director Tilman Singer has been invited to create a short film discovering the notebook and signature bottle.
