After 54 years, the German brand Borgward returns to the scene, with the announcement of more models. However, Borgward is returning thanks to the Chinese capital, rights to the brand last year was sold to the Chinese company Foton Motor, and plans a total of five new models. Among them are a luxury sedan, a model of the middle class, and SUV. The Borgward BX7 SUV, which has previously been confirmed, will be officially presented in mid-September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and the sales will start during 2016.
Borgward BX 7 is 470 cm long, powered by a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo with 224Hp, and has a drive on all four wheels. Borgward will inter alia for BX 7 to offer a system for the detection of pedestrians, adaptive cruise control, the 360 degrees camera, infotainment system with 12.3-inch screen, smartphone connectivity and WLAN hotspot. There will be versions with 5,6 and 7 seats and the maximum luggage compartment volume is 1,344 liters.
The TS version will come with chrome accents, larger alloy wheels, larger air intakes in the front bumper, sports seats with nappa leather, sport steering wheel and aluminum pedals and interior details.
In Frankfurt, will be presented a plug-in hybrid version, with a combination of a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine, electric motor, and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and drive to all four wheels, with combined output of 401Hp.
As for prices, it is expected that prices for BX 7 start from around 26,000 euros or $29,500.
