Fasten your seatbelts, we’re ready to for flight with a destination to Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2016 ready-to-wear fashion collection, seating under a transparent roof revealing faux clouds above “we took off!” With Chanel Airways, Karl Lagerfeld managed to repeat the same success of the similar show presented three years ago. This year’s show took place during the Paris Fashion Week where everything looked like the real airport departure lounge. Models wear creations for Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2016 while walked the runway arranged as check-in desk, waiting area, flight information board and a no. 5 gate – a nod to the brand’s famed perfume.
More than 100 outfits were shown at this year’s show. Large aviator sunglasses, baseball caps, silver gloves and silver and plastic booties or sandals completed looks.
“It was about shine, the reflection of the sun on the airplanes,” Lagerfeld, 82, said. “We did so much gold … at Chanel that it was fun to make everything silver and chrome.”
