Luxury Upper East Side duplex, once owned by Frank Sinatra has finally sold for just under $5 million, after nearly three years on the market. Built in 1961, the 3,200-square-foot, three-level apartment, in the Edgewater co-op on the Upper East Side, was once famously dubbed a “glittering grotto in the sky” by Andy Warhol. Meticulously renovated apartment overlooking the East River has four bedrooms and four full bathrooms with towering 18-foot ceilings and bare brick walls and a wraparound terrace. Additionaly it includes a private gym, a glass spiral staircase, and even a putting green.

This luxury pad was the place for entertaining many celebrities including Marilyn Monroe, president John F. Kennedy and Sammy Davis Jr, who allegedly has tossed champagne glasses from the terraces onto FDR Drive, 23 stories below.
Sinatra sold it to his celebrity doctor, Denton Cox, whose other patients included Warhol, Judy Garland and John Steinbeck.
