CastaDiva Resort & Spa is a 5 star luxury resort located in Blevio in Italy overlooking Lake Como, always one of the world’s most desirable destinations. The “diva” in CastaDiva Resort has two meanings: it refers to the most famous opera singer of the nineteenth century, Giuditta Pasta, who once lived there, and it refers to the way the staff and surroundings conspire to make all guests, maschio and femmina, feel special.
The heart of the resort consists of the Roccabruna Villa, Pasta’s home and where the composer Vincenzo Bellini wrote his two most famous works: La Sonnambula and Norma. The resort is named after the most famous aria from Norma: Casta Diva. Some of the buildings that constitute the CastaDiva date to the eighteenth century, others to the nineteenth, and some elements are totally new. For example, a floating pool now extends into the lake. At night it transforms into a dancing fountain, set to arias.
The 75-room property is in an enviable location right on the water and a short drive from the towns of Como and Bellagio. Guests arrive by boat, docking in a cave in the rocky foundation below the hotel.
The main amenities include 2 restaurants, 4 conference rooms and a spa of 1,330 square metres (14,300 sq ft) with a glass floor suspended over an ancient dock, as well as four VIP spa suites, dedicated to the four elements.
Guests pay a fee to use the wellness center, including the salt therapy area, Turkish bath, and two types of saunas, Mediterranean and Finnish.
CastaDiva Resort & Spa is open seasonally, March through January.
