Here is the second yacht built by the Alex Thomson racing team – the new 60 foot IMOCA. This marvelous vessel may be the fastest sailing boat in the world, but what is certain, it shows the exquisite style of Hugo Boss, while promoting the name of the luxury fashion house on the high seas. Two years in the making, the all black Hugo Boss yacht is 5% lighter than the team’s previous racing yachts and includes a number of totally unique design features.

Her hull is the work of renowned industrial designer Konstantin Grcic, and presents a charming pattern of the hive. Grcic has also assisted in the ergonomic design of part of the interior of the yacht, focusing on the navigation and sleeping area to ensure maximum amount of comfort without sacrificing speed and weight.
A team of 30 people worked on this project and performed xtensive hydrodynamic research and computational fluid dynamics studies before she got this dimension that we can see.

IMOCA Hugo Boss yacht weighs approximately 7.5 tonnes, and has a top speed of 35 knots (65 km/h), includes 2.5 kilometers of rigging and a total of 633 meter squared of sail. The specification for this vessel is that she must be able to withstand the strong downwind sailing Thomson will experience in the Southern Ocean.
