Mosquito Island (Moskito Island) is an island off the coast of Virgin Gorda and has long been a favourite for scuba divers and sailors. In 2007, Sir Richard Branson purchased this island for £10 million. The island is located on the west side of Gorda Sound adjacent to Virgin Gorda and near Necker Island, which is also owned by Branson. Now, Virgin Limited Edition, Sir Richard Branson’s luxury collection of award-winning retreats announced the newest addition to the collection – The Branson Estate on Moskito Island, which will be available for rental from early 2016.
Sir Richard Branson commented on the news: “It’s well known that I adore the beautiful and unspoiled British Virgin Islands and I’m thrilled that the new Branson Estate on Moskito Island is joining the Virgin Limited Edition collection. I’m confident that this stunning estate will be a fantastic addition to the rest of the portfolio.”
