RM Sotheby’s has announced that next month at auction in New York on sale will offer 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL ‘Sportabteilung’ Gullwing, BMW M1 and Ford RS200. Mercedes is a 300 SL Gullwing (W198) model, which the factory prepared for the race, with chassis number 5500640, which in the past three years, went through restoration. It is expected that car, on December 10 in New York, will be sold for 5 to 7 Million US dollars.
On the aforementioned auction will be offered other interesting cars such as Lamborghini Concept S (estimated to be around $2.4 to $2.8 Million), 1962 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato (about $16 Million) and 1956 Ferrari 290 MM that drove Juan Manuel Fangio (its value is estimated at $28 Million).
Interesting is also the 1981 BMW M1, one of only 399 copies of the road version, which will also be offered at RM Sotheby’s auction on 10 December.
The car has with chassis number 4301426, and it should mention that it is an exceptionally well preserved car.
Also Ford RS200 will be offered, with chassis number 169 and a driving range of only 1,960 km. The car is powered by 1.8-liter turbo engine with 250HP, enough to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour is less than 4 seconds.
