Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, the world’s most luxurious hotel, has won the ‘Best Hotel in the Middle East’ award at the esteemed annual Ultimate Luxury Travel Related Awards (ULTRAs) ceremony in New York. The readers of Ultratravel US magazine voted on 20 categories to select and recognise the best luxury hotels, airlines, cruise companies, spas and destinations globally. Earlier this year, the UK Daily Telegraph’s Ultratravel readers recognised Burj Al Arab Jumeirah as the ‘Best Hotel in the World’ title for the third year in a row and ‘Best Hotel in the Middle East’ for the ninth year.
Robert Swade, Group COO at Jumeirah Group, said: “Winning the Best Hotel in the Middle East award is a great endorsement and recognition for Burj Al Arab. On behalf of Jumeirah Group, the operator of this outstanding property, I would like to thank the readers of Ultratravel US magazine for their vote of confidence, our guests for their continuous support and our many colleagues who deliver the service for which the hotel is rightly renowned.”
To recall, Burj Al Arab Jumeirah occupies an enormous, sail-shaped building on a private man-made island connected to the mainland by a long, curved bridge. It has everything that you may imagine of a luxury Arabic hotel.
Accentuated deep Arabian colours and swathes of heavy fabrics frame the windows and beds, and gold fittings sparkle in the bathrooms where over-sized round, white baths await you. All the suites are over two floors and enormous, but if you want to push the boat out we recommend going for a panoramic suite where floor to ceiling windows with 180 degree views of Dubai stretch before you. As well as the usual spa, gym and restaurants, the hotel has no less than four swimming pools (both indoor and outdoor), and their underwater restaurant is inspired.
